Mariette Lindstein

Mariette Lindstein was a member of Scientology for 25 years and worked, among other places, at the organization’s headquarters in Los Angeles. She left the group in 2004. As an author, she became known for her debut novel, *The Cult: No Way Out* (*Die Sekte – Es gibt kein Entkommen*). The book won Sweden’s Crimetime Specsavers Award for Best Debut and was nominated for the 2019 CWA Dagger Award. Lindstein’s thrillers explore human psychology and the mechanisms of cults. She began writing as a child and grew up in an artistic family.
