Maria Semple

Maria Semple studied at Barnard College and began her career writing for the television series “Beverly Hills, 90210.” She went on to write for sitcoms including “Ellen,” “Mad About You,” and “Arrested Development.” She spent her early years traveling through Europe with her parents; while in Spain, her father, Lorenzo, wrote the pilot for the television series “Batman.”
