Marcin Szczygielski, born in Warsaw in 1972, is a journalist and author. From 2009 onward, he also published children’s books. His book “Paper Wings” received, among other distinctions, recognition from “Die Besten 7,” the “Youth Book of the Month” award from the Academy for Children’s and Young Adult Literature, and the 2015 Children’s Book Award from the Jury of Young Readers. “Behind the Blue Door” won Poland’s “Der große Dong” award in 2010, was included on the international IBBY Honour List in 2012, and was successfully adapted into a film.
