Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim (born 1987) is a chemist with a doctorate and a science journalist. During her doctoral research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research and Harvard University, she became involved in science communication, including Science Slams and TEDxBerlin. She is known for science formats including maiLab, MAITHINK X and Terra X. Her work has received numerous awards, including the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Leibniz Medal. Her popular-science books Komisch, alles chemisch (2019) and Die kleinste gemeinsame Wirklichkeit (2021) became bestsellers.
