Lucy Steeds

Lucy Steeds studied literature at the University of Oxford and lived in France and Singapore. Her debut novel, The Artist, was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2025, won the Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize and was named a Waterstones Book of the Year. In 2026, the novel was nominated for a British Book Award and the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction.
