Louise de Vilmorin

Louise de Vilmorin (1902–1969) was a French novelist and poet. She was born in Verrières-le-Buisson near Paris and died there. During her literary studies, she met Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and became engaged to him. Her longtime companion André Malraux encouraged her to write. Her best-known works include the novels “Liebesgeschichte,” “Julietta,” “Der Brief im Taxi,” “Madame de,” and “Belles Amours,” as well as several volumes of poetry. “Madame de” was adapted for the screen by Max Ophüls in 1953.
