Lorena Simmel

Lorena Simmel was born in Fribourg in 1988 and grew up in Switzerland. She studied creative writing at the Swiss Literary Institute in Biel/Bienne and European literatures at Humboldt University of Berlin and in Warsaw. Her poetry, prose and essays appeared in publications including EDIT, Neue Rundschau and STILL. She received a Berlin Senate literary work grant for her debut novel, “Ferymont”. In 2022, she held a literary fellowship from the Jürgen Ponto Foundation and was previously a participant in the 16th Klagenfurt Literature Course.
