Lisa Skwirblies (born 1985) earned a PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Warwick. Her research focuses on the intersections of German theatre and colonial history. From 2018 to 2020, she was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow at LMU Munich; she had previously received an Early Career Fellowship from the Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Warwick. Her publications include the monograph “Performing Empire: Theatre, Race, and Colonial Culture in Germany and its African Colonies, 1884–1914” (Palgrave, 2023).
