Leonardo Padura

Leonardo Padura, born in Havana in 1955, is a Cuban writer. His work includes novels, short-story collections, literary studies and reportage. He became internationally known for his crime novel cycle, the Havana Quartet. In 2012 he received Cuba’s National Prize for Literature, in 2015 the Spanish Princess of Asturias Award for Literature, and in 2023 the Pepe Carvalho Prize.
