Lena Falkenhagen (born 1973 in Celle, Germany) studied German and English at the University of Hannover. She worked as an author, editor, translator, and computer-game writer and designer, including in the field of fantasy role-playing games. Her historical novels include Das Mädchen und der Schwarze Tod, Die Lichtermagd, Die Schicksalsleserin, and Die letzte Hanseatin. She received the DeLiA Novel Prize in 2010 for Die Lichtermagd.
