Lea Sauer was born in Siegen in 1987 and completed a state examination qualifying her to teach. After spending time in Finland, Guadeloupe and Paris, she began studying at the German Literature Institute Leipzig in 2015. Her work has appeared in various anthologies. In 2015, her short story “Nichts kurz vor der Rue Saint-Blaise” was shortlisted for the New Voices Award of the International PEN Foundation.
