Lauren Oliver studied philosophy and literature at the University of Chicago and also graduated from New York University. After completing her studies, she worked as an editorial assistant at a New York publishing house before becoming known as an author. Her books were translated into more than 30 languages. She was among the nominees for the 2011 German Youth Literature Prize for »Before I Fall« and received the Buxtehuder Bulle for »Delirium«. Oliver comes from a family with many authors and was an avid reader from an early age.
