Laura Bates is a British feminist author and journalist. She founded the Everyday Sexism Project, a collection of accounts of sexism and gender inequality from around the world. She has written for publications including the New York Times, the Guardian and the Telegraph, and has appeared on British news and radio programmes. In 2015, she was awarded the British Empire Medal for her work promoting gender equality. Her books include *Sisters of Sword and Shadow*.
