Kurt Sontheimer

Kurt Sontheimer (1928–2005) was a German political scientist. He studied sociology, history and political science in Freiburg im Breisgau, Erlangen, the United States and Paris. From 1962 to 1969, he was a professor of political science at Freie Universität Berlin; he then served as a professor at the Geschwister Scholl Institute of the University of Munich until 1993. Sontheimer was born in Gernsbach, Baden, and died in Murnau, Upper Bavaria, in 2005.
