Kunibert Bering

Kunibert Bering (born 1951) studied classical archaeology, art history, history and philosophy in Bochum and Rome. He received his doctorate in 1978 with a dissertation on Fra Angelico and completed his habilitation in 1987. He subsequently taught as a Privatdozent at Ruhr University Bochum and also worked at the University of Koblenz-Landau and in Weimar. From 1998 onward, he was Professor of Art Education at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. His publications address the art history of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, twentieth-century art and art education. They include “Kunst und Staatsmetaphysik des Hochmittelalters in Italien,” “Reclams Kunstführer Rom” and “Richard Serra. Skulptur – Film – Drawings.”
