Klaus Stickelbroeck was born in Anrath in 1963 and worked as a police officer in Düsseldorf. He published his first crime short story in 2000; his first crime novel, *Fieses Foul*, followed in 2007. *Fischfutter* (2010) was nominated for the Friedrich Glauser Prize for Best Crime Novel of the Year. Stickelbroeck has also written crime novels featuring Hartmann, a former professional footballer who works as a private detective. Together with four other authors, he forms the group known as the “Krimi-Cops.”
