Klaus E. Spieldenner (born 1954) is a German crime writer. He became known in 2017 with “ELBTOD,” a crime novel about Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie concert hall. His regional crime novels combine extensive research with settings in Hamburg. Detective Sandra Holz is a recurring character and features in eleven regional crime novels. In 2024, Spieldenner introduced Ernst Groß, a flawed and sensitive Hamburg character, marking a new direction in his fiction.
