Katja Langenbach

Katja Langenbach (born 1976) studied dramaturgy at Ludwig Maximilian University and the Bavarian Theatre Academy, as well as dramaturgy and directing at Columbia University in New York in 2001–2002. From 2003 to 2005, she was an assistant director at Hamburg’s Thalia Theater; from 2006 to 2007, she worked as an assistant director in the radio drama department of Bavarian Broadcasting. As a freelance theatre director, she staged productions at venues including the Thalia Theater, Landestheater Bregenz and Kampnagel in Hamburg, as well as theatres in Aachen, St. Gallen and Ulm. She also directed numerous radio dramas, including adaptations of works by Ernst Toller, Joseph Roth and Virginia Woolf.
