Kathrin Heinrichs was born in the Sauerland region in 1970 and studied German and English literature in Cologne. In 1999, she began working as an author and cabaret artist. She became known for her Sauerland crime series featuring the teacher and amateur detective Vincent Jakobs. She also wrote short crime fiction, plays, everyday satires, and cabaret texts. With “Nichts wie es war,” she additionally published a crime novel featuring the characters Anton and Zofia, also spelled Szofia in the source material.
