Justin Torres

Justin Torres wrote, among other works, the novel *Blackouts* and the book *We the Animals*, which received the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award, was translated into 15 languages, and was adapted for film. *Blackouts* received the National Book Award for Fiction and was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. Torres was named one of the National Book Foundation’s “5 Under 35” and received fellowships from Stanford University, Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, and the New York Public Library’s Cullman Center. His short stories appeared in publications including *The New Yorker*, *Harper’s Magazine*, *Granta*, *Tin House*, and *The Washington Post*.
