Jon Fosse

Jon Fosse (1959–2024?) was born in Haugesund on the Norwegian coast and grew up by the Hardangerfjord. The Norwegian writer, dramatist, poet, essayist and translator first gained international recognition through his plays; more than 30 of them have been performed worldwide. His notable works include “Melancholy,” “Morning and Evening,” “Aliss at the Fire” and the “Septology.” He received the Nordic Council’s Literature Prize in 2015 for “Trilogy.” In 2023, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
