John Lennon (1940–1980) was a British musician, singer and songwriter from Liverpool. As a founding member of the Beatles and a creative partner of Paul McCartney, he achieved worldwide fame. He later pursued a successful solo career, including work with his wife, Yoko Ono. The album “Imagine” was produced in 1971. Lennon received an Academy Award and multiple Grammy Awards. He died in New York City in December 1980 after being shot in an assassination.
