John Buscema

John Buscema (1927–2002) was an American comic book artist. He began his career at Timely Comics in 1948, drawing western, crime, and horror stories. After a period working in fine art, he returned to comics as an illustrator in 1966 and subsequently worked primarily for Marvel. His best-known work includes stories featuring The Avengers, Thor, The Fantastic Four, The Silver Surfer, and Conan, including „Conan the Barbarian“ and „The Savage Sword of Conan“. In 1978, he collaborated with Stan Lee on the instructional book „How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way“.
