Jiddu Krishnamurti
Author · 29 books
Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895–1986) was an Indian philosopher and spiritual teacher. At the age of thirteen, he was adopted by the Theosophist Annie Besant; the Theosophical Society regarded him as a future “World Teacher” and educated him in England for that role. In 1929, he publicly rejected this designation as well as organized religion and ideology. Through lectures and conversations given during worldwide travels, he explored inner freedom, self-knowledge, and freedom from fear, conditioning, and dogma. His writings and recorded discussions were published in numerous books.
