Jevgenij Samjatin

Jevgenij Ivanovich Zamyatin (1884–1937) was a Russian writer. He published successful short stories and satires while still a student. After the October Revolution of 1917, he came into conflict with the new authorities, and his works were subsequently banned from publication in Russia. In 1931, Zamyatin left his homeland and lived in exile. He died of tuberculosis in 1937.
