Jens Sparschuh

Jens Sparschuh was born in 1955 in Chemnitz, then known as Karl-Marx-Stadt. From 1973 to 1978, he studied philosophy and logic in Leningrad, and in 1983 he earned a doctorate in Berlin. He subsequently worked as a freelance writer. He published numerous radio plays and children’s books, as well as novels for children and adults. His honors include the Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden (1989), the Prix Chronos (2018), and the Günter Grass Prize (2019).
