Jaron Lanier

Born in New York in 1960, Jaron Lanier was an internet pioneer who helped shape terms such as “virtual reality” and “avatar.” He taught at Columbia University, Yale University, and the University of California, Berkeley, and worked for Microsoft Research. His books include Who Owns the Future?, Who Dreams of a Better Future?, Dawn of a New Everything, and Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now. In 2014, he received the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade.
