Jan Weiler, born in Düsseldorf in 1967, is a journalist and writer. After working as an advertising copywriter, he attended the German School of Journalism in Munich and spent many years as editor-in-chief of the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. He worked as a freelance writer from 2005. His first novel, »Maria, ihm schmeckt’s nicht!«, was published in 2003. His other works include »Antonio im Wunderland«, »Das Pubertier«, the crime novels featuring Inspector Martin Kühn, and the novels »Der Markisenmann« and »Munk«. Weiler also wrote columns, screenplays, radio plays and children’s books; he narrated several audiobooks himself. His original radio plays include »Liebe Sabine«, »MS Romantik«, »Uwes letzte Chance« and »Das Babyprojekt«.
