Jacqueline Jones

Jacqueline Jones, born in Delaware in 1948, is an American historian. She was a professor of social and intellectual history at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on feminist economics and the histories of slavery, class, and race. In 1986, she received the Bancroft Prize in American History for her book »Labor of Love, Labor of Sorrow: Black Women, Work, and the Family from Slavery to the Present«, which was also a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Her book »A Dreadful Deceit: The Myth of Race from the Colonial Era to Obama's America« was likewise a Pulitzer finalist in 2017.
