J. David Simons (born 1953) is a Scottish writer and trained lawyer. In the 1970s, he lived on a kibbutz in Israel and later worked as a lecturer at Keio University in Japan. He writes novels, short stories and essays. His debut novel, *The Credit Draper*, was shortlisted for the McKitterick Prize in 2009. His novel *Ein feines Gespür für Schönheit* was published by Europa Verlag in 2017.
