Isabelle van Groeningen

Isabelle van Groeningen grew up in Antwerp and studied garden culture at the Kew Botanic Gardens in London. She earned a doctorate in garden history from the University of York. She worked as a garden consultant for the National Trust and gained decades of international experience as a planting designer. In 1992, she and Gabriella Pape founded the LANDART design studio in Britain, through which they designed gardens around the world. She received a Gold Medal at the Hampton Court Flower Show in 2000 and a Silver Gilt Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2007. In 2008, she and Pape established the garden school at the Royal Garden Academy in Berlin-Dahlem. Her book “Die sieben Jahreszeiten” received the German Garden Book Prize in 2022.
