Ingeborg Schnack

Ingeborg Schnack (1896–1997) was a German librarian and Rilke scholar. After studying history, German studies, mathematics and physics and earning a doctorate in canon law, she became Germany’s first female library councillor. From 1945 until his death in 1950, she worked closely with Insel publisher Anton Kippenberg. Together with Renate Scharffenberg, she contributed to numerous editions devoted to the work, letters and biography of Rainer Maria Rilke.
