Inge Deutschkron

Inge Deutschkron (1922–2022) was a German-Israeli journalist and author. Born in Finsterwalde, she lived underground in Berlin from 1943 to 1945 to evade persecution by the Nazis. Her works include *Ich trug den gelben Stern* (*I Wore the Yellow Star*), *Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt* and *Überleben als Verpflichtung*. Among other honors, Deutschkron received the Moses Mendelssohn Prize in 1994, the Rahel Varnhagen von Ense Medal in 2002, and the Carl von Ossietzky Prize for Contemporary History and Politics in 2008.
