Iain MacGregor

Iain MacGregor studied history and worked for more than 25 years as a nonfiction editor and publisher. During his studies, he travelled through the Baltic states and Russia in the early 1980s, an experience that sparked a lasting interest in the history of the Soviet Union. He published books on various aspects of the Second World War on the Eastern Front (1941–1945), conducting research in archives in St Petersburg, Moscow and Volgograd. He also worked as a podcaster, including for the BBC History Extra Podcast.
