Hubert Hug, born in 1959 in Freiburg im Breisgau, is a molecular biologist and science-fiction author. His biological research took him, among other places, to Liverpool and Osaka. These subjects also inform his science-fiction stories, which often deal with research theft and the criminal use of knowledge about molecular life processes. He has also written horror and fantasy novels and short stories.
