Hiromi Goto

Hiromi Goto was born in 1966 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, and moved to Canada with her family in 1969. She is known as an author of novels as well as children’s and young adult books. Her debut novel, “A Chorus of Mushrooms” (1994; German title: “Chor der Pilze”), received the 1995 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book in the Canada and Caribbean region and the Canada-Japan Book Award. Her other works include “Darkest Light.” “A Chorus of Mushrooms” has been translated into Japanese, Korean, Italian, Hebrew and other languages.
