Hildegard Kretschmer

Hildegard Kretschmer studied art history in Salzburg and subsequently earned a doctorate. She worked as a lecturer at the universities of Munich and Salzburg and taught architectural, design and art history at the Schools of Wood and Design in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Her publications include the Reclam volumes »Städteführer Salzburg«, »Lexikon der Symbole und Attribute in der Kunst« and »Die Architektur der Moderne«. She also wrote essays on artists and subjects in art history, including Caravaggio, Tintoretto and Baroque sculpture.
