Helga Kromp-Kolb, born in Vienna in 1948, is a meteorologist and climate researcher. She served as a professor at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, where she is emerita. Her scientific work has received numerous awards, including the City of Vienna Prize for Natural Sciences (2023) and the Grand Silver Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. Her publications include “Für Pessimismus ist es zu spät” and “Plus zwei Grad,” co-written with Herbert Formayer. Kromp-Kolb is the daughter of Austrian resistance fighter Fritz Kolb.
