Helen Scales

Helen Scales is a marine biologist, author and broadcaster. She has written several books and contributed articles on marine biology to National Geographic, The Guardian, New Scientist and other publications. Her research has included coral reefs in Borneo and mangroves in Madagascar. She became familiar with the Great Barrier Reef while working as a diving guide.
