Heinz Schmidbauer

Heinz Schmidbauer was born in Munich in 1943. As an animal filmmaker and nature photographer, he produced numerous television features, particularly about insect biodiversity, and worked as a filmmaker for Heinz Sielmann at the NDR public broadcaster. His publications include the illustrated book *Ein Garten voller Vögel* (*A Garden Full of Birds*). Schmidbauer is also known for his interest in birds and his focus on native wildlife.
