Heinrich Breloer (born 1942) is a German filmmaker, director, and author. He studied literature and philosophy in Bonn and Hamburg and made more than 40 television films. His best-known works include the docudramas »Todesspiel«, »Die Manns – A Century Novel«, and »Speer und Er«, as well as the film adaptation of »Buddenbrooks«, his first feature film. Breloer received numerous awards, including several Grimme Awards, an Emmy, and the German Television Award. For his work on the Mann family, he conducted extensive interviews with relatives and associates and consulted archival estates.
