Harald Wiberg (1908–1986) was born in Hallingeberg, Sweden. He worked as a poster painter and studied painting. He became known for his atmospheric depictions of animals and nature. In 1982, he received the prestigious Swedish Elsa Beskow Prize. Together with Astrid Lindgren, he created the picture books “The Tomten” and “Christmas in the Stable.”
