Harald Schneider

Harald Schneider, born in Speyer in 1962, is a German author. Before pursuing writing, he worked for 20 years as a business economist in a media company. He began writing short crime stories for the popular press while still a student. He became best known for the crime series featuring Inspector Reiner Palzki, developed from 2008 onward; the character also appeared in puzzle mysteries published by the newspaper Rheinpfalz and in customer magazines. Schneider has also published several children’s book series. In 2013, The Palzki Kids in Great Danger launched an interactive series about the inspector’s children. In 2017, Schneider came third in a poll for Palatinate readers’ favorite author.
