Hans Bemmann (1922–2003) was a German writer. After beginning medical studies, he studied musicology and German literature. From 1954 he worked as an editor for the Österreichisches Borromäuswerk, first in Austria and later in Bonn; from 1971 to 1983 he taught German at the Bonn University of Education. He published his first works under a pseudonym in the early 1970s. He became widely known in 1983 with the award-winning fairy-tale novel “Stein und Flöte,” which was translated into numerous languages. His later novels likewise combined fairy tales and myths with the development of human consciousness.
