Hana Hadas

Hana Hadas (born 1972 in Uherské Hradiště, former Czechoslovakia) grew up in Czechoslovakia and Austria. She studied Slavic studies and art history at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and worked as a translator, interpreter, editor, language instructor, and arts educator. Her translations from Czech into German include prose by Sylva Fischerová, Viktorie Hanišová, Tereza Brdečková, Jáchym Topol, and Hana Lehečková. She also translated scholarly texts, screenplays, and literary works, including Dora Kaprálová’s *Islands* and Hanišová’s *Anežka*. She also led courses in literary translation and taught Czech at LMU Munich and the Munich Adult Education Center.
