Haji Jabir

Haji Jabir was born in 1976 in Massawa on the Red Sea coast. The Arabic-language author explores Eritrea’s past and present in his literary work. He received the Sharjah Award for his novel “Samraweet” (2012) and the 2019 Katara Prize for Arabic Novels for “Tomorrow, Someone Else.” Jabir worked as a journalist for Al Jazeera.
