Gökçe Yurdakul is a sociologist whose academic career includes a professorship in Diversity and Social Conflict at the Department of Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She also held a leadership role in the department “Scientific Foundations of Integration and Migration” at the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research. Her publications include *From Guest Workers into Muslims: The Transformation of Turkish Immigrant Associations in Germany* (2009), *Citizenship, Migration, Minorities: Strategies of Inclusion and Exclusion in Comparison* (2010, co-edited with Michal Bodemann), and *The Headscarf Debates* (2014; German edition 2016, with Anna Korteweg).
