Gertrud Lehnert

Gertrud Lehnert (born 1956) studied comparative literature, Romance studies and German studies in Bonn and Paris. She received her doctorate in 1985 and completed her habilitation in 1994. From 2002, she taught comparative literature at the Institute of Arts and Media at the University of Potsdam, where she also worked in cultural and fashion studies. Her research areas include the theory and history of fashion, gender studies, visual cultures, and the study of space and emotions. She has published numerous books and essays, including “Schnellkurs Mode” and “Frauen mit Stil. Modeträume aus drei Jahrhunderten”.
