Gert Scobel

Gert Scobel, born in 1959 in Aachen, studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Sankt Georgen School of Philosophy and Theology in Frankfurt and at the University of California, Berkeley. He also studied philosophy of science and philosophy of language in Frankfurt. He worked as a science journalist, author, and television presenter. From 1995 to 2007, he hosted the 3sat program “Kulturzeit” and, from 2001 to 2003, the ARD Morning Show. From 2004 to 2008, he led and presented the science magazine “delta,” which was subsequently replaced by “scobel.” Scobel received the EICOS scholarship twice, including for work at the Max Planck Institute for Cognition and Neurosciences in Munich. In 2016, he was appointed professor of Philosophy and Interdisciplinarity at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.
