Gerhard Wehr

Gerhard Wehr (1931–2015), Dr. theol. h.c., was a German writer and theologian. After many years working in various areas of the diaconate within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, he taught from the 1970s until 1990 at the Diakonie school, later the Academy of Social Pedagogy, in Rummelsberg. Wehr published numerous studies on the history of religion and ideas, as well as biographies of figures including Martin Buber, C. G. Jung, Rudolf Steiner, Jean Gebser, Helena P. Blavatsky, and Friedrich Rittelmeyer. He also edited source works and original texts on German mysticism. A large part of his work was translated into European and Asian languages.
